Our History
2003
Our Beginning
Founded in 2003 in Providence, Rhode Island, Genere Foods began with one goal — to connect communities through quality food and exceptional service. What started as a small local distributor has grown into a trusted regional network serving hundreds of supermarkets, wholesalers, and restaurants across the Northeast.
2004-2019
exponential growth
Over the years, our growth has been fueled by dedication, hard work, and a commitment to doing things right — from the warehouse to every customer relationship.
2020
expanded offerings
In 2020, we expanded into the fresh produce category through our sister company Americas Fresh Produce, bringing a stronger presence in tropical and local produce lines.
2022
Bonollo Provision
In 2022, we proudly acquired Bonollos Provisions, a long-established meat and deli distributor serving New England for over 50 years. Most recently, we added Warwick Poultry, enhancing our fresh poultry capabilities and completing our full-service food distribution model.
2025
Warwick Poultry
In 2025, we strengthened our fresh protein division with the acquisition of Warwick Poultry, a leading regional poultry distributor. This addition completed our full-service model — offering dry, refrigerated, frozen, produce, meat, and poultry categories.
